Coordinate Plane Error Analysis is the systematic identification and correction of mistakes that occur while plotting points, reading coordinates from a graph, or classifying a point's position among the quadrants and axes, cataloguing the specific ways such spatial reasoning can go wrong despite the underlying concepts being relatively simple.

Ordered Coordinate Reversal occurs when a solver transposes the two values of an ordered pair, plotting or reading the value belonging in First Coordinate Position as though it belonged in Second Coordinate Position, or the reverse, violating Coordinate Order Dependence and producing a point reflected across the diagonal from its true intended location whenever the two coordinate values differ.

Horizontal and Vertical Axis Confusion occurs when a solver mistakes the Horizontal Coordinate Axis for the Vertical Coordinate Axis, or the reverse, performing Horizontal Movement First along the wrong axis or conducting Point Projection to the Horizontal Axis using the vertical axis instead, producing a plotted or read point rotated relative to its true position.

Axis Point Assigned to a Quadrant occurs when a solver incorrectly classifies a point lying directly on the Horizontal Coordinate Axis or the Vertical Coordinate Axis as belonging to one of the four quadrants, violating Axis Points outside Quadrants, which establishes that a point with a coordinate value of exactly zero in either position cannot belong to any quadrant regardless of the sign of its other coordinate.

Graph Scale Misreading occurs when a solver fails to perform Scale Interval Recognition correctly, assuming that each gridline or tick mark represents a single unit when the graph actually uses a different interval, producing a coordinate reading that is proportionally incorrect even though the general position and direction were correctly identified.

Coordinate Point Correction is the concluding action of the analysis, in which the specific error identified among the categories above is traced to its exact source, whether in coordinate order, axis identification, sign, starting point, zero handling, quadrant classification, or scale interpretation, and that step is redone correctly following the complete Point Plotting or Coordinate Reading from a Graph procedure.
