Scope Adaptation is the ongoing capability of a project team to adjust the content, sequencing, or granularity of its planned work in direct response to new information, without requiring a formal re-planning cycle or disrupting the underlying delivery cadence. It represents the operational expression of agile scope philosophy: the mechanisms, habits, and organizational readiness that allow a team to actually change course smoothly when circumstances demand it, rather than merely acknowledging in principle that scope should be flexible.
