Quadratic Form Recognition is the skill of identifying which of several equivalent written forms a given quadratic expression is presented in, and understanding what particular piece of structural information each form makes immediately visible. The same quadratic function can be written in more than one way, and each way is suited to revealing a different feature of the function without requiring additional computation.

Standard form is recognized by its arrangement of three terms in descending order of degree: a squared term, a linear term, and a constant term, connected by addition or subtraction.
