Project Resource Capacity quantifies how much productive work can be performed by the resources allocated to a project. It integrates multiple factors:

This is the theoretical capacity based on planned resource assignments and standard working conditions. It assumes ideal availability without unexpected interruptions.

Effective Project Resource Capacity

Effective capacity adjusts the planned capacity by considering real-world factors such as absenteeism, multi-project commitments, and unforeseen events, resulting in a more accurate estimate of actual available effort.

Full-Time and Partial Resource Capacity

Resources may contribute capacity on a full-time basis (100% allocation) or partial basis (fractional allocation). The total capacity is calculated as the sum of the individual capacities adjusted by their allocation percentage:
